The Booger Family Reunion started in 2001 and this year’s gathering was the eighth annual party at Duck’s; it always occurs during the last full weekend in July, kind of a “Mid-Summer Gathering”. The original party began as a response to the local Hall of Fames that sprang up in the late 90’s all over the shag world; the existing Booger Family members at the time decided we should have a Hall of Fame also. The only criteria for entry
into our Hall of Fame would be the act of getting a Booger name and so the party was started. Almost 300 folks cam to the first reunion and the special nature of this weekend revolved around continuous nonsense; how could it be otherwise with everyone having a Booger name? While most all the party attendees at the first two reunions “picked” a Booger name for themselves, this is no longer a requirement. We just designate that everyone who attends is a “Booger” and also an automatic member of the Booger Family Hall of Fame. In other words, all are equally nuts! Everyone is welcome at our reunion, just bring an open mind and willingness to have lots of fun. Somebody famous always manages to show up: two years ago it was American Idol Taylor Hicks (actually a look-alike) and last year it was Aretha Franklin look-alike Uretha Franklin (actually Booger Mama) and both “stars” put on a great show. The world famous Booger Brothers always provide the late night music, ably warmed up by the Booger Daddy and Uncle Booger. Once again, this weekend is open to anyone who wants to have a good time so come on down. You will be welcomed with open “Booger Arms”.
